How We Support Families

We recognize that addiction doesn’t just impact the person struggling with it—it affects families, too. At Her Harbor, we are committed to supporting you as you support your loved one. Here’s how we work with families throughout the treatment process:

  • Family Involvement from the Start – From the moment your loved one is admitted, we will reach out to you to introduce ourselves and offer support. We will gather important family contact information and answer any questions you may have as you prepare for this journey with your loved one.
  • Family Therapy – We strongly believe that healing happens within families, which is why we offer family therapy sessions facilitated by a licensed therapist. These sessions provide a safe space for open communication, helping to heal family dynamics, improve understanding, and foster healthier relationships moving forward.
  • Ongoing Communication and Support – Throughout your loved one’s treatment, we will keep you informed of her progress and be available for any questions or concerns you may have. We offer continued support and guidance for families as they adjust to life during and after treatment, ensuring that your loved one has the foundation she needs to succeed.

Helping Your Loved One During Recovery

Supporting your loved one through recovery is an ongoing process, and there are a few key ways you can help her stay on track and move forward with confidence:

  • Encourage Participation in Family Therapy – Family therapy is an integral part of healing. Encouraging your loved one to engage in these sessions will not only help her but will also create a space for you to understand her struggles, develop better communication, and support one another as a family.
  • Stay Connected – While it’s important to give your loved one the space she needs to focus on her recovery, staying connected through letters, calls, or visits (as appropriate) can be incredibly helpful in maintaining her sense of support and connection.
  • Be Patient – Recovery is a journey that takes time. There will be ups and downs, but trust that your loved one is receiving the care and support she needs. Be patient with both her and yourself as you both navigate this process.

A Path to Healing, Together

At Her Harbor, we know that recovery is not just about overcoming addiction—it’s about reclaiming identity, rebuilding relationships, and creating a new life filled with purpose and strength. Our goal is to empower your loved one to take charge of her life and embrace a future of possibility.

Her Harbor is more than a treatment center—it’s a place of healing, connection, and growth. We’re here to help both your loved one and your family build a foundation for lasting recovery. You don’t have to go through this alone. Let us walk with you, every step of the way.
